Birdwatcher or Birder: Which Are You . . . And Does It Really Matter?

Amy Hooper of Wildbird on the Fly recently posted a couple of entries on the origin and relative use of the terms "birdwatcher" and "birder." This is a topic that has been much discussed and re-discussed in birding circles; never with any resolution, seemingly, but always of much interest.

I'm a birder. That seems to be the way it goes.
