Birding Festivals in March

“A lot of people don’t realize there’s [sic] about 300 bird festivals that go on around the United States in a year . . .” (Daniel Greene, as quoted in this article about birding in Lancaster County, Pennsylvania)

I’m not sure that anyone really knows exactly how many birding festivals there are in the U.S. each year (I guess it depends on your definition of what a “festival” is), but they have certainly blossomed in the last decade or so.

Here, for your pleasure and edification, is a list of 19 birding festivals that will be held in the month of March in 2007. Brant, buzzards, cranes, eagles, geese, owls, and pelicans are but a few of the birds that will be celebrated this month.
