Birding Berrien County

Berrien County, Michigan, holds a special place in my heart because that is where I was born and lived for the first 20 years of my life. It is also where I became infected with the birding bug. It is of personal interest, therefore, to note the existence of the Berrien Birding Club, which is (somewhat oddly?) sponsored by the Berrien County Parks and Recreation Commission. An excerpt:
The club sponsors a regular schedule of birding outings to locations in and near Berrien County, as well as occasional meetings. The club also publishes a regular newsletter, The Berrien Bird Observer, and Field Notes, an annual summary of all species seen in Berrien County.
You can also subscribe to a local listserv for Berrien County birding.

From the Sarett Nature Center, located in northern Berrien County, comes a checklist of more than 300 bird species recorded in the county, and descriptions of favorite local birding hotspots.
