That question was posed recently in a search request that showed up in my referral log, no doublt because of this previous post. And the answer, of course, is “No, they have cloacas.”
One of the more interesting “hits” from that search request was an article on visual signals used by male birds to attract females, which appeared in—of all places—Tropical Topics: An interpretive newsletter for the tourism industry.

To answer the question you posed in the earlier post about a more fitting name for the Argentine Lake Duck, how about the Priapus Duck?
Good suggeston, Bill. Maybe you should suggest that to the IOC for consideration in their Birds of the World: recommended English names.
But what happens when a Priapus Duck meets an Angel Tern? Sounds a bit like a scene from Angels in America...
