Heat-Stressed Birds

According to this article, triple-digit temperatures "forced a large group of egrets" to invade the town of Hutchinson, Kansas, last week in "a desperate search for water."

Actually, they did not venture into the city to find water. They migrate to the city every year for the last decade. The heat and lack of water nearby caused the birds to make their way into traffic. So, citizens put up fences to stop them from walking into certain death. See article below.
