Birding Lags Behind Hunting and Fishing in Blog Posts
It is rather sobering and disconcerting to see how insignificant birding is as a topic of discussion in the blogosphere. Compared to fishing and hunting, for example, it doesn’t even register a blip on this trend graph (as generated at BlogPulse). Interest in birding peaked in mid-April, when the word appeared in one of every 16,667 blog postings (0.006 percent). By the way, the mid-February peak in the hunting trend line corresponds with Dick Cheney's quail hunting incident.

Sobering, indeed, John. I guess we need to shoot, hook, and possibly eat the objects of our affection in order to capture the public's imagination.
We do have the best bloggers though!
I'm afraid that your suggestions might be self-defeating, Mike. Maybe something like nude birding would make the sport more sexy in the eyes of the general public without actually causing harm to the birds. We definitely have some of the best bloggers around!
