Road-Killed Birds

To continue today’s theme, here’s an amazing worldwide compilation of information (courtesy of Danish ornithologist Johannes Erritzoe) on bird mortality along roads and highways, complete with an extensive bibliography. And this recent paper (PDF file) estimates 80 million avian mortalities annually due to vehicle-related collisions along U.S. highways.
