For anyone who might have been wondering, I thought I should point out that my previous post really does have a bird connection. Virginia Tech sports teams are known as Hokies, and the mascot is a HokieBird, which has evolved from a turkey. Virginia Tech teams were once called "gobblers," a common term for a male Wild Turkey.
