In a
commentary in Newsweek about a recent decision by the Texas Board of Education that leaves
loopholes for teaching creationism, Christopher Hitchens includes this remark about Ken Mercer, one of the members of the Board:
[He] has said that evolution is disproved by the absence of any transitional forms between dogs and cats.
Come again?
. . .or horses and cows, for that matter.

ReplyDeleteThey work hard at it, apparently. Natural selection obviously doesn't select for intelligence.
