I...Rebecca: Thank you for your very kind comments. I'm glad you enjoy reading my blog, silly as it can be at times. It's always nice to meet another West Virginia blogger, especially one who has interests similar to yours.

As you know, my ranting about the Creation Museum was quite a bit different from what I normally write about, but that has really hit a nerve with me. The state of science education in the U.S. is really pathetic. I like your idea of stressing population biology as part of evolutionary teaching, but that seems to be asking a lot of the American education system these days. I would like to see more emphasis on basic ecology in high school, but that's probably a pipe dream.John L. Although all my education has been in evolutionary biology, I find the absence of interest in everyday mathematics and physics even more troubling.

I also think if scientists started to discuss evolution in terms of population biology, with all the math and modeling that supports it, the average non-scientist would respect evolution more, or at least be less willing to argue with it.

By the way, I'm a regular reader of your blog, and enjoy what you're doing here very much.Rebecca Claytonhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06494730619850791609noreply@blogger.com
